The deal, in plain words.
The short version
- You make a book from your voice, your family's voices and your photos. It's yours.
- You need to be 18 or older to make an account.

- Anyone with the book's link can open it. You can turn the link off any time.
- You can delete a book whenever you want. Its photos, recordings and words go with it.
- Something wrong? Write to support@whisperwishes.com. A person replies.

About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Squareish LLC, 8200 Springwood Dr, Ste 235, Irving, TX 75063, USA, which runs WhisperWishes at whisperwishes.com. By making an account or adding your voice from a family link, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your information, and it's part of this agreement.
"You" means the person using WhisperWishes. Some sections are only for the person who makes a book, and some only for the family who add their voice from a family link; they say so.
What WhisperWishes is
WhisperWishes turns what people say into a short book to send for a birthday or another big day. A friendly interviewer asks you a few questions by voice. You add photos and say who's in them. We make a book of 2 to 8 pages from your words, with the real voices in it, and give you a private link to send.
In a family book, you share one link, and each person adds their voice from their own phone, with no app and no account. When you're ready, you close it and the book is made from everyone's words.
We keep improving WhisperWishes, so parts of it will change.
Who can use it
- To make an account and a book, you must be 18 or older.
- The family don't need an account. Anyone with a family link can add their voice, once they tick the consent box. Anyone under 18 may add their voice only if a parent or guardian ticks the box for them.
- Anyone with a book's link can open it.
You can't use WhisperWishes if the law where you live doesn't allow it, or if we've ended your account for breaking these terms.
Your account
You sign in with your email: we send a link, and the link signs you in. There's no password. So keep your email account safe, because anyone who can open your email can open your WhisperWishes account.
One account is for one person. You're responsible for what's done in your account. If you think someone else got in, write to support@whisperwishes.com right away.
Your words, voices and photos
What you and your family add stays yours. We don't own it.
To make your book, you give us permission to store it, copy it, turn speech into text, send it to the services that help us (listed in our privacy policy), arrange it into pages, and show the book to anyone who has its link. That permission is only for running WhisperWishes for you. It ends when you delete the book, apart from the copies that stay for a limited time, as our privacy policy describes.
We never use your book, your voice or your photos in our marketing without your written permission, and the written permission of the people in it.
You tell us that you have the right to add everything you add, and that doing so doesn't break anyone else's rights.
Inviting the family
If you make a family book:
- Send your family link only to people you'd like in the book. If it reaches the wrong person, make a new link: the old one stops working.
- Each person ticks a box before adding anything: they agree their voice and photos go in the book, that you see them, and so does anyone you send the book to. Don't pressure anyone to tick it.
- You see what each person adds. You can take someone out until you make the book; what they added is then deleted, except a recording they started and didn't keep, which goes when the book is deleted.
If you add your voice from a family link:
- Only add your own voice, and photos you're allowed to share.
- Until the book is made, you can change or remove everything you added with "Change or remove mine". After that, ask the person who made the book, or write to support@whisperwishes.com.
What you must not do
- Record, add or send anyone's voice without their agreement, or pretend to be someone you're not.
- Add photos you don't have the right to share. Only add a photo of a child if you're their parent or guardian, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Add anything illegal, hateful, threatening, sexual, or meant to bully, embarrass or harm someone, including the person the book is for.
- Share someone's private information (an address, a health matter, a secret) without their agreement.
- Try to get into other people's books or family links, break or overload WhisperWishes, copy it with automated tools, or take it apart to build your own.
- Resell WhisperWishes or use it to make books for money for other people, unless we agree in writing.
We may check what's added to keep WhisperWishes safe. If something breaks these rules, we may remove it, turn off a link, or end an account. When we can, we'll tell you why first.
How the book is made
The interviewer, the writing of the book and the changes you ask for use AI (our privacy policy names the companies). We built it so nothing is made up: every line in the book comes from something someone said or typed, and a check removes anything nobody said. Lines you type yourself stay exactly as you wrote them. We never copy or fake anyone's voice: the voices in the book are the real recordings.
Still, a computer can mishear a name, misread a photo or translate a phrase a little off. So read your book before you send it, and fix anything that isn't right: tap a line to change it, or say what to change. What you send is your choice, and you're responsible for it.
Prices
Our prices are on the pricing page: one price per book, no subscription. Before any of it applies to a book of yours, we'll update these terms and tell you. Books you make until then stay as they are.
Printed copies
A printed copy of your book will be an add-on. It can't be ordered yet.
Private links
Every book is private and opens only from its link. The link is long and random, so nobody can guess it. But anyone who has it can open the book, hear the voices, see the photos and send the link on. So share it with care.
You can turn a book's link off, and back on, whenever you want. While it's off, nobody can open the book. We can't take back a copy someone already saved on their own phone.
A family link is private in the same way: anyone with it can add their voice until you turn it off or close it to make the book. If it reaches the wrong person, make a new family link, and the old one stops working at once.
Deleting, leaving and ending
- You can delete any book from My books, whenever you want. Its photos, recordings and words are removed, as our privacy policy explains. This can't be undone.
- You can close your account by writing to support@whisperwishes.com. We delete your books and then your account, within 30 days.
- We may end your account, or turn off a book or family link, if you break these terms or the law, or to protect someone. When we can, we'll tell you first.
- If we ever close WhisperWishes, we'll email you at least 30 days before.
What we can't promise
We work hard to keep WhisperWishes running and your books safe. But we provide it as it is, as far as the law allows. We can't promise it will never be down, slow or wrong, or that a book will be ready by a certain time. Some things depend on services we don't run, like your phone, your connection, the AI companies and our hosting.
We look after your books and recordings with care, but we can't promise nothing will ever be lost.
Limits on what we owe
As far as the law allows:
- We aren't responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of something we did wrong, or for lost profits or business.
- The most we'll owe you for any claim is US$100.
If someone makes a legal claim against us because of something you added in breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Nothing here limits what we owe you if we're careless and someone is hurt, if we act fraudulently, or any right that consumer law gives you and doesn't let a company take away.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. If we disagree, let's talk first: write to support@whisperwishes.com and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, disputes go to the courts in Dallas County, Texas.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protections of your own country's consumer law, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For an important change, we'll email you at least 14 days before it applies. If you keep using WhisperWishes after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your books and close your account.
The small print
If one part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer this agreement to someone else; we may transfer it if WhisperWishes changes hands, and your rights stay the same.
