Before you start

Can Dadi speak in Hindi?

Yes, and mixing in English is fine. Her Hindi is written in Roman letters, the way you'd text it, with the English underneath, and her voice plays on the page.

What about Gujarati or Punjabi?

Not yet. Today people can speak English, Spanish, Hindi or Urdu, and mix them.

Will the book add prayers or blessings?

No. Every line is something someone in your family said or wrote. If Nani says "Shubh Deepavali," it's there in her words. If nobody says it, it isn't.
